Skeeson 11 HRT Champion
Skeeson 11 HRT Champion – It was once again another wild High Rollers Tournament proving that anything can happen in a best of 3 match, especially when you mix in some day drinking. When the dust settled on Saturday two of the best rollers in the league were left standing. Both had been there before and both had come one ball (literally) short from a championship in past skeesons. The only thing definite in the match-up was that there would be a first time champ.
Pat won the right to roll second, Chuck selected Lane 2 and the best of 5 battle began! First game… a tie of course! The second game went to Pat, 3rd game to Chuck and the 4th to Pat putting him up 1 with one game left. Chuck had to win and went hundos, forcing overtime! Two straight Super Saturday HRT overtimes. In an interesting move, Pat decided to save his hundos for overtime. As we all know, Lane 1 isn’t the friendliest lane for hundos. Pat was able to knock down 3 before switching back up the middle and hitting a 40 to give him a 390. With Chuck having already used his hundo frame, 390 was a huge score. I personally thought Pat had it in the bag. Chuck stepped up and missed two of his first three rolls at the 50, but managed to hone back in with the next few balls.
One ball left, down 80… it was time for a hundo. Hit it to win it! And he was rolling to the left. The hardest hundo hole to hit on any of the 3 machines is the left side hundo on lane 1. Pat knows it. Chuck knows it. Everyone in the league knows it. And as Chuck lined up to roll everyone there on Super Saturday knew he was aiming for the left hundo. Chuck let the 9th ball fly, it bounced off the wall, rattled around the hundo hole and dropped. Walk off hundo for the win!
Incredible. Once a non-hundo roller and he hits a walk off hundo for the HRT title. I hope someone got a video of that moment!
