Season 9 Champs

 

Season 9 Champs – Congrats to Skeevenge of the Nerds for winning the team title on SSIX! The Final Four had the Nerds matched up against Skeepleus and Smells Like Skee Spirit rolling against the Skee Wee Hermans. Both match-ups were pretty close, but Shed once again caught fire and led Skee Spirit back to the finals for the 3rd straight skeeson.

The Thursday night showdown, even with a sub on each side, came down to the final roll. Everett needed a 42 for the tie, 43 for the win. Everyone in the bar became silent as he approached lane one. It was awesome. Nine balls stood between him and the finals. The first three balls went hundo, hundo and hundo. Pretty much as clutch as it gets. Then, being the veteran that Everett is, he switched to up the middle, knocked down three straight 40’s and Everett’d up the last three balls for the win. There was a bear call (or whatever you want to call what came out of his mouth after he won) and a run across the bar. Another epic final roll.

The finals were somewhat of a blowout until the 8th frame, when Shed tried to make it a match with an 81. But in the end, Skee Spirit only rolled a 938 (half the teams in the playoffs could have won this match) and the Nerds took home the championship, Coozie’s first!
