Meeting Mike Tyson Playing Skeeball
Back when you were just a little kid, there is no doubt that you played a game or two of skeeball at the local arcade or Chuck-E-Cheese. Well, as long as you could pull yourself away from the spinning wheel with the quarter sized hole in it or the flashing light game that went in circles, both rewarding huge amounts of tickets if you were lucky enough to hit the jackpot. Seriously though, if you never played skeeball as a kid I feel very sorry for you. You missed out. It was one of the most frustrating, yet addicting games out there. (And don’t act like you never tried to pull off the “arm under the net” trick, we all did it.)
Fast forward to now. I have NEVER met a single person who hates skeeball. They may not as obsessed with it that I am, but most people love it. What is there not to like? Tell me if you were in Vegas and stumbled upon an arcade that you wouldn’t drop a few bucks into the skeeball machine. FACT. Well, Mike Tyson recently did just that! What a great way to meet the Greatest Boxer of all time (not even debatable).
We have seen the likes of CT and Abram from the Real World, the crazy Celtics fan with the Alien glasses, Aztec Gino, and even Jared Sullinger. But meeting Mike Tyson while playing skeeball. D*mn! That’s quality. You just never know who you’re going to run into on the skeeball lanes!
(P.S. We created a new page that we hope to be updating soon, called Skee Around the World. Check it out.)
UPDATE – A few Chicago Bears apparently had a recent showdown on the lanes at Chuck-E-Cheese and things got a little interesting. How much can you bet on skeeball? “You would be surprised! [laughs]” – Muhsin Muhammad
