Season 14 Playoff Brackets Released – All brackets are below.
The first 3 hours of match-ups are set. PLEASE be on time and ready to roll. This is a single elimination tournament with the Final Four teams moving on to Super Saturday and competing for the Champions Chalice.
This season I can honestly say that there is no favorite. Sure, FKA snuck into first place Week 7, but we all know Brian and Sam’s meltdown history come playoff time (Hi Sam!). Same story for Skeezy. No captain means there is no one to stop them from bombing hundo’s frames 7 and 8, when taking the points is ALWAYS a better idea (Hi Eric!). I see a bracket that’s about to go up in flames like the NCAA tournament brackets this year. Below are my picks… the ghost writer will be weighing in tomorrow with her (or his) picks. Enjoy!
FKA Bracket – I’m not sure boccskee will have a 3rd, so by default I have FoT moving on in the first match-up of the night. Their run will be short lived, as FKA has too much firepower and takes them out in Round 2. The 9:30pm match is going to be a good one. Get your popcorn ready. Vintage Polischuk may come out in this one (I’m talking about him breaking 300, not shit-talking ;)). Ev rarely loses in the playoffs… and Chris coming off a 2 week hiatus in China won’t help matters. Duke moves on. The Elite-8 match will be a good one too and maybe one of the best matches of the night. When all is said and done, Sam/Brian have a meltdown during the match or Ev will sink a last ball hundo for the win. Either way, Duke moves onto the Final Four (if only this was the NCAA tournament).
Han Rolo – Lane selection will have a lot to do with who advances in this bracket. If Skee 3P0 avoids Lane 1, I think they advance to the Final Four. And you know what? I think the ping pong balls will be bouncing their way come Thursday. The number #13 seed will not only knock off #4 Han Rolo, but they will take down NMITPS. Just kidding. I only pick against Shed in the individual bracket. After a warm-up round, NMITPS will be on cruise control into the Final Four.
Skeezy – The last thing Eric wanted to see in his bracket was #15 seeded I Skee Drunk People. Joe’s been here before and will give Skeezy all they can handle. I think Skeezy survives by the skin of their teeth, but they will definitely be on upset alert here. On the bottom half, SIB will do what they do best. Win one game and then lose in the Elite-8. Let’s be honest, Eric hasn’t been to a Super Saturday and things won’t change this season. Skeezy onto the Final Four.
Trickskee – Beer! snuck in to the playoffs, but I don’t think they have enough to get by Nick Weir. His 400 will be enough to advance in Round 1. Alan stands in his way round two. If Robo rolls well this game will be in the bag by the 7th frame. DMSkee has been a giant slayer in past seasons, but Jan has too much playoff experience. I like Skeelicious to move on. The Elite-8 will be another great match-up. If Dionne can manage the pressure (blame it on the alcohol), Trickskee has a chance here. Pat will need a huge game and Lane 3 to pull this off. I’ll take the 66% chance of 1 or 2 and Skeelicious to move onto Super Saturday.
Final Four – Shed will want this win more than any others in her skeeball career. Why you ask? Well, to begin with… because it’s Everett. The feud goes back many years and many skeesons. But secondly, because she’s expecting a skeeball baby and will be taking a few skeesons off (Congrats BTW)! I’m taking NMITPS +1 over Everett and the ROY to move onto the finals. In the other matchup, Skeezy vs Skeelicious, I’m going with Skeezy. If they make the Final Four, and that’s a big if, I don’t think their run will stops there.
That leaves NMITPS vs Skeezy. What a final. I fully expect this to come down to the last ball. That being said, I picked Skeezy at the beginning of the season and I’m sticking with them.
