I don’t normally make picks, but no one has stepped up to the plate this season so I’ll give you guys a quick full rundown (anyone want to write the HRT this skeeson?).
Wednesday Night – I never go all chalk. Ever. But it almost happened here in round one. The most likely upset I see happening is the 10 vs 7 matchup. Just like march madness right? Rollin’ Dirtskee upsets The Skeevil Dead and moves on. I also project the girls on True American Skeeroes will knock down enough hundos to move on.
Round two looks like all chalk (boooo I know). However, there is ALWAYS a close match that comes out of no where. I can’t figure out which team it will be but it will happen. If Dionne rolls in the neighborhood of 300, Trickskee Little Hobbits will never lose. It all depends on how much water she drinks. I don’t see them getting by 2 Balls and A Doll though.
So I have all chalk in the Final Four. I know, weak sauce. Blah blah… but these top 4 teams are some of the best skeeBOSTON has ever seen. The Skeeballin’ Ducks and Banking is for B@*#&%@ (true story) should provide us with our first showdown of the night. Shed usually steps up in the playoffs, as does Paul… but I’m not going against the Ducks. They should be nice and sauced by 10:30pm and as long as this match isn’t played on Lane 1 they pull off the upset. As for the other matchup, 10:30pm is past Sam’s bedtime. Combine that with this teams ability to choke skeeson after skeeson and you see where I’m going, right? 2 Balls and A Doll is dangerous and slay the giants to move on to SSX.
Thursday Night – I’m again going with the 10 seed for an upset on Thursday night. Kevin is FINALLY rolling like he was in his rookskee campaign and should help lead Run D.M.Skee to the upset (sorry Nick!). I’m not picking the upset, but I think Roofskeed could be in for a close call in round one. Especially if Polischoke doesn’t break 250! I’m going with chalk everywhere else. The other upset watch is PBR (+JoJo) vs Bad News Bearskees. BNB almost pulled off one of the biggest upsets in skeeBOSTON history last skeeson and I’m not sure they ever got over the lose. If their heads are in the game and the Robynator comes to play… EVERYONE should watch out!
Round two is going to be much more exciting on Thursday night than on Wednesday. Ain’t Easy Bein’ Skeezy has been on a mission all skeeson, having rolled 1000+ in 5 straight weeks. Polischoke will finally have enough Jamo in him to break 300, but the pressure will start to get to C&C. I would pick Ain’t Easy by 50 if it wasn’t for the smack talk factor. That will keep things close, but I still like Ain’t Easy to move on. Now… I hope you are sitting down, because my next pick is my best one yet. You heard it hear first, The Gamblers break 1000 and take down Skeepleus. Those that have rolled against these guys in past skeesons know what I’m talking about. Czar used to lead the team, but Kyle has taken over the reins and has the team primed for a HUGE upset. And it happens in Round two. BOOM!
In the Final Four on Thursday I have Rollmecs, SIB, Ain’t Easy and The Gamblers. In the top half of the bracket… Eric pulls through on his promise from Week 1 when he guaranteed a SSX appearance. I never thought it would happen, but Jamo will once again have an impact on the playoffs and this time it isn’t a good one. Craig will buy one too many rounds, Dave will pick a fight with Kyle and leave before the 10th frame, and The Gamblers will be gone just like that. The other matchup will be a great one. I want to pick SIB and even tried to talk myself into picking them… but I can’t go against Ev’s #SuperTeam.
So there you have it. SSX will feature The Ducks vs 2 Balls and Rollmecs vs Ain’t Easy. That is if things go the way I picked them… which we all know will never happen. Go prove me wrong… and go underdogs!
